General guidelines of the competition

  • The competition is open to: Middle school students (SMP or equivalent), High school students (SMA or equivalent), Undergraduate students (S1), and Postgraduate students (S2). Don’t be discouraged, those who are not part of these can still apply!
  • Participants must submit their article and any supporting documents through the online form before the 5 June 2026 11.59 PM (GMT+7). Late submissions will not be considered.
  • Articles must be written in English, with a length between 800 - 1,000 words, and submitted in PDF format, and file name format: Full Name_Title.
  • All articles must align with the CIIC 2026 theme, focusing on one of the following tracks:
    • Energy Transition;
    • Food and Nature Solutions;
    • Circular Economy;
  • Each submission is recommended to clearly define the issue and present and idea that directly addresses it in an innovative way.
  • Submission must not stray from the following brief outline:
    • The problem: Define a clear, specific issue related to your chosen track
    • The solution: An innovative, evidence-based idea that directly addresses the problem you highlighted
    • Mention CIIC: Explicitly mention the Climate Impact Innovations Challenge 2026 in your text and explain how your idea aligns with our mission
  • Participants are allowed to include supporting materials, such as images, presentation slides, or videos, as attachments under the “Article Submission” section.
  • To make your articles stand out, please ensure it is SEO-friendly; Include your chosen topic, targeted keywords, SEO title, and key phrases at the top of your article.
  • All entries must be original and must not have been previously published, submitted, or awarded in any other platform, competition, or media.
  • Plagiarism is strictly prohibited. Any article found to contain plagiarized or AI-generated works will be automatically disqualified (we will check!).
  • Submissions will be evaluated based on:
    • Writing & Engagement Innovation
    • Relevance, Impact, and Evidence-Based
    • SEO Optimization
    • All submissions will be reviewed by judges selected by the CIIC committee
    The judges’ decisions are final and based on the overall strength and balance of the criteria above.
  • Participants are required to follow CIIC’s official social media accounts:
  • All submitted articles will become the intellectual property of CIIC and may be used for promotional or publication purposes on the discretionary basis of CIIC, with credit given to the author.
