Competition timeline
General guidelines of the competition
- The competition is open to: Highschool students (SMA or equivalent), Undergraduate students (S1), and Postgraduate students (S2).
*For high school students, please tick a checkbox for a parent or guardian consent in the application. - Participants must provide a valid Student ID (KTM or equivalent proof of enrollment).
- Participants must submit their ideas through the online form before the 12 June 2026 11.59 PM (GMT+7). Late submissions will not be considered.
- Ideas must be written in English, with a length between 800 - 1,000 words, and submitted in PDF format, and file name format: Full Name_Title.
- Each submission is required to clearly define the issue and present a technology-driven solution that directly addresses it in an innovative way.
- Participants are allowed to include supporting materials, such as images, presentation slides, or videos, as attachments under the “Ideas Submission” section.
- All submitted ideas must explicitly mention and demonstrate their relevance to CIIC within the main content.
- To make your ideas stand out, please ensure it is SEO-friendly; Include your chosen topic, targeted keywords, SEO title, and key phrases at the top of your article.
- Submissions must align with the CIIC 2026 theme, focusing on one or more of the following themes:
- Energy Transition;
- Food and Nature Solutions;
- Circular Economy;
- Each submission must be the work of a single individual. Group submissions are not allowed.
- All entries must be original and must not have been previously published, submitted, or awarded in any other platform, competition, or media.
- Plagiarism is strictly prohibited. Any article found to contain plagiarized content will be automatically disqualified (we will check!).
- Submissions will be evaluated based on:
- Writing & Engagement Innovation
- Relevance, Impact, and Evidence-Based
- SEO Optimization
- All submissions will be reviewed by judges selected by the CIIC committee
- Participants are required to follow CIIC’s official social media accounts:

- LinkedIn: Climate Impact Innovations Challenge
- TikTok: @ciic_sea
- All submitted ideas will become the intellectual property of CIIC and may be used for promotional or publication purposes on the discretionary basis of CIIC, with credit given to the author.
- Ideas will be evaluated by judges selected by the committee. The judges’ decisions are final and cannot be contested.
- Any changes or updates to the guidelines will be announced via CIIC’s official communication channels throughout the competition period.
- There are no registration or submission fees. CIIC does not authorize any third party to collect payments on its behalf. Participants should be cautious of fraudulent payment requests or scams.
